Slow hot water climax from new heater
Newly installed electric Sears Miser 12 80 gallon failed to solve the reason for the purchase - excessive delay and waste of water before getting hot. The old heater exhibited ths signs of dip tube defect. My home is one level 3.5 bathrooms. The sole location that gives immediate hot water is the washing machine which is in closest proximity to the heater. The other hot water faucets take @ 1 minute to get hot with faucet on or unilever on hot setting at full strength. The parts the installer left behind were to convert the lower burner from 3800 watts to 5500 watts.

Any help re: cause and cure would be greatly appreciated. john mack

Slow hot water [ 8 Answers ]

Last month, our condo had pipe repairs - we have no idea what they were, but the water was turned off and then back on about 3 times over the course of a week I think. Since then, a lot of us have had to run the hot water tap for 3 or more minutes to get hot water. Supposedly an engineer checked...
