    "the band charges a flat fee of $200 plus $125 per hr after first hr. what is the equation (f=?"


    what is the equation that best describes the "c" cost of the band in relation to the time "t" that they play

    200 is the constant price and will be there regardless of the number of hours.

    So, for the time being, you have:

    c = 200

    Now, for each additional hour, t, they have to pay $125.

    This means, that for 1 hour, they have to pay $125, for 2 hours, they pay (2 x 125 =) $250, for 3 hours, they pay (3 x 125 =) $375 and so on.

    So, for each hour t, they pay 125t

    The total cost c, is then:

    c = 200 + 125t
