Sorry if this is not a hot topic but you ladies seem to know a lot and I thought I may get some useful insight from youOk so my husband and I signed a 12 month lease and have only fulfilled 6 months. However we now have a chance to get a house and I want to jump on the opportunity but I am afraid of the early termination fee. Since being here we have been miserable. The day we moved in a man tried to expose himself to me and followed me while trying to undo his pants (I was able to call my husband to the rescue, I was also 7 months pregnant) while I was walking my dog. We called the police and security who searched for the man. The apartment was notified but didn't follow up. I have recently come to realize this man is my neighbor. So I am terrified to go outside and never do so without my husband. Another thing is that I have repeatedly asked them to spray for spiders because we are having a big issue with them and I don't want my son or dogs to be bitten. They have never come to spray and I would know because I am a stay at home mom. Granted I'm not here 24/7 but they are required to notify me beforehand and haven't. I asked them a month before I was due and all the way up until the day before I was induced. And several times since then and nothing. Alongside these issues there are always police here and I smell pot being smoked just about everyday. (The pot may not be an issue for some but it is for me). So my question is is there a way I can break the lease and avoid the termination fee because of these issues or am I just SOL? I'm in Oklahoma by the way, I'm not sure of the leasing laws here. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You do not have grounds to break the lease, unless any of the things listed is in your lease as reasons.
You can try to buy them out, or work out a deal with them, but you will have to pay the penalty in the contract if you wish to break the lease.
