    EU Residency question
    Hi,

I have a question or 2 to ask re imimgration of an American citizen into the EU. Here are the facts: We wish to get married and live together but not in the USA - in fact in Spain. I am British so there is no issue for me. Now he has a criminal record in the USA dating back more than 5 years. Would this affect his residency in Spain? Also I realise that being married to me he has the same rights as an EU citizen - however is this EVEN if he has a criminal record in the USA? The crime was not minor - but it was not DIU or robbery, or larceny or manslaughter or anything of a sexual nature. Also does it matter where we get married? Is it better for us to get married in the UK? Would that be more acceptable to the Spanish? Basically - will they let him reside in Spain with a criminal record!
