Is it possible to have sex every other day throughout your cycles? When you are able to see the doctor, you could ask about ways to help regulate your cycle. There are some medical and some herbal ways they may help.

With an irregular cycle, you may or may not be ovulating on a regular basis. Once regulated, they will likely suggest you try for awhile still, or they may start some initial testing to determine if you are indeed ovulating.

Until you can see the doctor, frequent sex of course, and you could invest in some ovulation test kits. You would start testing when your period ends and right through until you have another period. Downside, the cost, and they can be frustrating to use for some women.

How irregular are your cycles? Do you have them, but the number of days between changes often, or are you only having several a year?

I have mine like every 2 or 3. the longest I went w/o was 4 months last yr. my irreguarites started @ 17 which was the most stressful time for me. After that il be regular sometimes and other time irregular and now I'm fully irregular smh weird.. but yeah I was thinking about the test but didn't want to waste money. There's herbal methods? I heard the right amount of vitamins can help your cycle. I was taking multi-vitamins but recently stop because protein trace was found in my urine.

Has your partner been checked? Tight underwear or jeans and hot baths/showers can affect his fertility. (Just another aspect I had to take note of in my own situation... )

Have you ever been given a reason, or possible reason, for the irregular cycles? Any health conditions... such as diabetes or thyroid concerns?

Have you had higher than normal protein levels detected before? You said a trace amount, but that would not be unusual.

Vitamins won't effect an irregular cycle as hormones control your cycle. Proper amounts of vitamins certainly can be helpful for your over all health if you don't have such a great diet. Folic acid, in particular, is important while trying to conceive. This is why it is often suggested that women take a prenatal, or multivitamin, that has at least 400mcg of folic acid in it, especially when they are trying to become pregnant.

When you see your doctor, you can discuss possible options. Herbal supplements have their place, and can be quite effective, but you still need to consider them as medication. There are situations where you would not want to take certain ones or too much of some. Your doctor would know your health history and could advise you.
