Have longstanding history of fibroids; D&C and endometrial ablation 2003; recently got sent to urologist due to blood in urine by OB/GYN; found 10cm mass from ovary on CT, pressing into bladder on exam; referred back to OB/GYN, said probably a fibroid, not urgent, 4 weeks for appt for ultrasound and exam; OB/Gyn said definitely coming from ovary, not sure what it is, but performed CA-125 which was negative; offered a) non-urgent laparoscopy since it is, now, allegedly a fibroid from ovary, or repeat ultrasound in two months; history of breast and ovarian cancer; what is latest opinion for CA-125 in diagnosing cancer? While I feel it is benign, there are also pre-cancerous ovarian tumor.
