    Transfer Probation
My brother in law is currently incarcerated in NJ. He will be on probation when he gets out. He will be getting out in a month with no place to live and no job. We want him to come live with us here in NY. Is there anyway we can make this transfer happen before he is released otherwise he will be homeless and that would be a violation of probation AGAIN!

Being they are neighboring states; I would be surprised if some sort of reciprocity agreement isn't in place. I would contact both parole boards. It is probably do-able. Just my opinion.

First it is probation not parole, and then it is the court though the probation department that controls this.

Assuming he has an attorney, the attorney should start trying to arrange it being moved. If not, he will have to find and move into a shelter for an address.
