I am 46 and began having BURNING only symptoms end of July. Before finally getting an appointment, I then started to have clear heavy discharge with no odor. I tested negative to any STD and was told it was an infection caused probably from low estrogen. I was put on fluconzole cream for 5 days which helped. I just got the BURNING/DISCOMFORT back and it sometimes goes down the front of my legs and my butt cheeks. I have no discharge, no odor and absolutely no itching. Never had itching even from the onset. I took a 150mg. Fluconazole yesterday and will take another on Sunday. I just don't think this is a yeast infection. I am still in discomfort and took the pill almost 24hrs ago. Can this be a yeast infection and how soon does it take for the pill to take effect? I'm very alarmed but my doctor isn't.
