My fiance' and I have been together for 6 years.He has 3 children with his ex wife.We moved in together and we got the kids on the weekend.He paid every bill for the house she and the kids were living at, gave her money for the kids and got everything they needed and keep all the reciepts for it.I told him I would help with them.Their real mother was doing some bad things so he went and got the kids for a while and told her to get some help and straighten up and she could have the kids back. That has been almost 6 years ago.We have a child together. When I got pregnant with him he filed for a divorce from her he paid $1700.00 for it and she wouldn't sign the papers, then the lawyer got disbarred and didn't file anything for the divorce. We are still trying to get the money back from the state bar assoc.She has been in and out of jail for all kinds of reasons.We haven't received anything from her to help with the kids,she never called.We have been through counseling for the kids.The children don't want anything to do with her.Can he get her for abandonment? Should we try to get child support or her to sign the rights away? Does she still have any? She is out of jail at this moment but I don't know for how long.Thanks for all your help!
