Shoplifting under age 18 in Georgia
My daughter and her friend were caught shoplifting from Walmart. The items totaled less than $40.00. They were arrested from the city police, processed, fingerprinted, and then sent to the county jail. They received tickets to appear before the judge and the charges were cited as a misdemeanor. We all live in Georgia and were wondering if this will stay on their permanent record? Also, what should they expect to receive as restitution for this crime?
