Dark brown spotting before period

Hi, so I usually get my period within 25-30 days but this time its been different and I'm not even sure it's my period. I'm on my 29th day of waiting and for the past 3 days I've been having some sort of dark brown discharge. It's very light and it comes and goes. I'm not sure what's going on, can anyone give me some advice?
