I'm finished paying out my Bond for Deed in Louisiana. What do I do to get my title?
I've been paying for 20 years, owner is ready to transfer. What and how do we accomplish this? We recorded the contract with the parish 20 years ago. Is there a document to close it or complete it? When I get my deed, do I record it to protect myself? The original attorney was a friend who has since passed on.

The seller needs to draw up a deed transferring this property to you. You would be the one recording it with the county. You may retain an attorney to properly draw up the transferral deed. Should not cost more than $50 to have this drawn up. It does need to be signed by the seller and notarized though.
