    Red heeler puppy howl
    Okay I a 12 week old red heeler and he listen to me and my boyfriend every well. He follows me everywhere I go he doesn't even need a leash on but when I have to leave him he whins every time and when my boyfriend drops him off at my moms house he'll howl and whin and bark for like an hour my mom loves on him plays with him nothing works to stop him from howling/whining what should I do to break him of it?

    This is a separation anxiety. More age on the pup may help, but it takes time (duh!) Possibly, if you have something the pup may associate with you, like some clothes or anything with a strong scent of yours, it may satisfy him and help him get over the anxiety.

    Howling is a feature of hounds, which Heelers are.

    Sorry, I got distracted and submitted my answer before I finished it...

    What I meant to say, is 'something with your scent on it may be left at "grandma's" house, which may be comforting enough for the pup that he doesn't miss you'.

    May not be comforting to you to know your dog can't tell you from an old shirt, but if it works, hey...
