    Why did the Cold War happen in the aftermath of WW2?
    Why did the Cold War occur in the aftermath of WW2

    I've got the gist, but trying to get in as much information without overwriting or overthinking. Is it because the USA and Soviet Union were worried about losing their power and that they each had gained allies and the USA was afraid of communism.

    There are tons of opinions on this question. Some experts believe it was a natural consequence following WW II.

    Its always been my understanding (and I just doublechecked) that Stalin saw two forms of regimes (Worldwide) - imperialist/capitalist on one side and progressive/Communist on the other side.

    President Truman saw it as one side free and the other side intending to dominate other countries.

    In the mid-1950's Khrushchev made a speech, stating that imperialists (on one side) and communists (on the other) could exist without war because the communists were better intentioned, stronger and out numbered the imperialists.
