I am literally homeless and can not get a job here in Texas. I have less then a dollar to my name. I need to get a Texas state ID. They will arrest me on the CA warrants I am sure. But I seriously doubt CA is going to extradite me for the two misdemeanors. Hell I am not sure jail in OC right now would not be better then the life I am living but I have no way to get to CA to even just be jailed. (long sigh... ) What do I do at this point? I can not get an ID (not a drivers license) so I can work and pay fines in CA. I have serious health problems requiring surgery on my eyes as I will be blind soon. I can't believe CA wants me back there to drain their resources after I site in jail.

So I have no way to get to CA from TX. I am homeless. With severe health problems. How do I get those warrants released so I can try and get work to pay the fines? Seems like a hopeless situation to me. I know the warrants show when I go to the Orange County website but I just searched NCIC and they don't show their. How can I check nationwide for free to see if they will show when I try and get a license here in TX?

First they will hold you ( not arrest you) till they find out if CA will pay to have you bought back, they normally have up to a hour to do that, we were required to do it within 30 min, and release if the other state did not respond unless it was felony charges.

And no I doubt they will pay to take you back, so about the worst ( my guess now) is that they detain you, and release you since they can't send you back.

So in that case you should be able to get the state ID.
May be hassled some but should be able to get it.

Now of course you could find yourself in a CA jail in a week if I am wrong.

Hell I am headed into winter here living in TX sleeping in a friggin public park. Not sure winter in a CA county jail is going to be any worse then freezing to death in TX honestly. I just can't believe they would come get a homeless guy living on the street to slap in jail for a dui where I was arrested IN MY GARAGE for gawds sakes. No traffic ticket no accident etc...

I need serious health care for my eyes and I think CA probably is a lot better then TX for getting free help.

I would hope if I promised to somehow make small payments, never get another drivers license (I want just an ID) and swore I would never again enter California (lol) they might offer some kind of deal. Without an ID I can't ever get a real job and make payments to them or anything. Sort of stuck. They won't come get me. I can't come to them. And without the ID I can't work to make payments and they neeed the money.
