Moved in new flat, very dirty washing machine...
When I opened the part where you put washing powder and softener to use the machine for the first time, I was so surprised to find a black substance in the three components. Needless to say, I did not wash my clothes, but I tried getting the black stuff our using a regular cleaning (antibacterial) product. However, even though I did clean the part that I can see, when I look inside, it's still black. I suspect this black thing (fungus?) is everywhere... and it's disgusting. The previous owner was so dirty and this was the latest discovery I made! :/

Any ideas on how to clean it? Would vinegar work? Would anything work or should I start saving up for a new washing machine?

    Thank you!

You could try a whole cycle with a strong solution of bleach.

And should I put the bleach where I would put the washing powder? How much of it should I use? Would one cycle be enough to remove the bleach? Because I know that it can take colour off clothes..

    Thank you!
