She likes me.. But doesn't want a relationship.
Okay,
Me and this girl have been bestfriends over a year now. & just recently we shared our feelings that we like each other. Well, yesterday she said "I love you" which is completely normal, we say it a lot to each other. & actually mean it. Anyway I said "I love you too" she asked "more then just a friend?" I said "yess" & it was bothering me that I didn't tell her I love her as a girlfriend. Today I finally did, she said" You want me to be your girlfriend? Like right now?" I said "Well.. I do. But it doesn't have to be now. Cause I don't know how you feel about it" she said that really liked me & all. But she didn't want a relationship because it distracts her from school work." I said okay, I understand." which really I felt hurt inside. What should I do? I have to talk to her, she's my best friend. But when I talk to her, I think about it. & I'm very vague when I talk to her, because if it. Please help! |

After reading between your lines, I have the following conclusions -
1. As a boy, you expressed yourself, which is quite natural. (Meaning - You LOVE her) 2. As a girl, she said she does, but would for the time being, prefer work. (Meaning - She LOVES you, too) 3. Her saying "I love you" says it all, and so, she said much more than you might be expecting, or at least you should have EXPECTED, as girls are very coy/shy in this declaration, and do it steadily and slowly. 4. Still, the 'distraction' point is just either to assess how much romantic waters you are in, or to concentrate on her studies, but one thing is sure, SHE IS YOURS. Now, do not lose her, give her gifts, hugs and talks and whatever she wants, needs and likes/loves. Bet me, she is YOURS! |

I am going to step out on a limb here, since I don't know you, or her, but I think her reaction was to YOU not be all for being more than just friends. At least that's what it seems to me.
I think if you rethink this, and give her a proper thing to take a chance on, be it yes or know, this uncertainty can be put to rest.But then again, if you have the girl, is a title important? How old are you both? |
