Intertherm gas furnace diagnostic code reports "pressure switch stuck on close"
So furnace won't fire up. What the heck makes a pressure switch get stuck on close? Why doesn't blowing through the tube open it? Can hear a "click" so the diaphragm is doing something when I blow through the tube. I put the thermostat on "heat" and nothing at all happens(draft inducer does not start up). I'm a bit confused about the sequence of things. Since the draft inducer won't start up would think that error code is stopping it so is there a sensor that tells the furnace that the pressure switch is stuck on close when the natural state of things is for it to be open at the start of this whole sequence if I understand correctly and then the draft inducer would close the pressure switch which then tells the furnace to go on with the sequence that it needs to do in order to get heat? During the summer when the central air was on had a back up in the tube that takes the water out so had water gushing onto the pressure switch and I think, also onto the area where the draft inducer butts into the body of the furnace. I did remove the pressure switch when this heat problem started and water did come out of it, but there is no more water coming out of it now. I also stuck a "wire" into the metal nipple of the part of the furnace where the draft inducer butts against the body of the furnace(the part where the end of that pressure switch goes into) and the "wire" went through without a problem. I haven't messed with an amp reader because don't have one and also don't like the idea of messing with electricity. Was going to go buy a new pressure switch and see if that works since the draft inducer is more expensive. If that doesn't work then will go buy a draft inducer. So, does anyone have any ideas that can enlighten me? Please. Another thing, the electric plugs that go into the pressure switch look a bit "green"(I guess from getting wet) so not sure they are making good contact. Not sure how to clean that off since the contacts have these plastic sleeves covering them so no room to really get in there. Yes, I did turn off the power to the furnace when I was messing with it.

    Thanks,
    Ceci
