Harley davidson troubleshooting?
2000 Heritage Softail classic
Fuel Leak, on-off valve. I tried a new diaphram Leaks gas with engine running only. If I turn the valve to off position, the leak stops immediately. I bought a new diaphram ($32) and it didn't change. I put a new clamp on the fuel line. Do you think I should buy a new valve (over $100)and try it. I can't see how there can be anything wrong with the valve, I had it apart when I put the new diaphram in. Thanks in advance for any help, 69 year old Harley Rider. Bob |

Haven't had bike running since I had hip replacement two years ago . Removed carburator and cleaned out jets . Put fresh gas and new plugs and wires on bike with new battery . Tries starting and heard a gurgle and oil on the floor . Bike wouldn't start . Bike is a 1989 fxsts.
My bike is clicking when I try to start it. It has battery so I am thinking spark plugs/wire could cause it. Am I right or is there something I can do? 1999 sportster 883 xlh
I have an 02 roadking w/40,000 and the oil light started flashing, mostly when I let off the throtle ?
2001 FXDWG-left turn signal flashes at normal speed, then flashes rapidly. Both the front and rear signals flash together, so I know it is not a burned out bulb. The right signals flash normally.
I have a 1989 Harley Soft-tail custom 1340. When out on the road running, it coughs back through the carburetor and pops through the exhaust. I don't know if it's a shorted wire somewhere, a valve or the jets in the carb wrong. It has a Keihen Carb. On it and Samson street sweeper pipes on it. ...
