    I will do a month to month. Is it necessary for me to sign a lease at all?
    I prefer not to sign a lease, but pay the month to month fee. Can I do this?

    Are you talking about a residential apartment or a business building?

    IF the landlord agrees to it. But landlords, especially commercial landlords want security. And you may have a hard time finding a landlord to agree.

    You can offer it, normally to do a month to month, you will have to pay a higher rent, than a lease will allow.

    Also you may have to still sign a month to month rental agreement, since it spells out the rules of renting
