    Similarities between the US in 1776 and the US in 1870?
    Need to know some for a history project. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    A good way to get started on this would be to make two lists: one labeled 1776, and one labeled 1870. Then, start researching things that happened in each of those years and list them so you can later compare them.

    Even before you start your lists, you may wish to come up with a list of questions that follows with your assignment. For example: "what were typical clothing styles?" or "what were popular activities in this time period?" Then, ask each of your questions for each of the years you are looking at. As you answer them and fill in spaces on your list, you can easily see similarities and differences.
