    Faucet can't support portable dishwasher
I just got off the phone with Moen's help desk. They said they don't recommend using any of their faucets with a portable dishwasher--the pressure is too great & the faucet will fail. Since Moen is one of the better brands, the question is what brand will work?

Did te same thing except I'm on my 2nd unsuccessful faucet installation. Just got off the line with Moen's customer service. The rep said that none of their kitchen faucets can withstand the pressure of a portable dishwasher. While I understand the logic of Speedball1's answer, apparently it's not true.

Moen's faucets are some of the best. I'm still looking for a brand and model to buy.

I doubt that you would find any manufacturer of a faucet that has a swivel spout that would not say that. The "O" rings and seals that allow the spout to swivel are simply not designed for that kind of pressure. To say otherwise would open the manufacturer up to responsibility that they are not willing to accept.

However, I have seen more than one Moen kitchen faucet used in that manner without problems.

Hey Cap, You're making my job really hard.
You piggybacked on a 2 year old threo then you piggybacked on a 5 year old thread with a duplicate post. Before you post look in the upper left hand corner form the date.
While I understand the logic of Speedball1's answer, apparently it's not true.
Of course it's not true in your case. It was posted 5 years ago for another question. Have you hooked the faucet up and tried it? If you don't get a leakage through in the spout ":O" rings you should be fine. While the faucet isn't designed to hold pressure in the spout there are plenty of portable dishwashers out there hooked to faucets. Try it and let me know. Good luck, Tom

The base of my kitchen faucet is leaking and causing considerable flooding on my kitchen floor when I run my portable dishwasher.
Should I replace the entire tap/faucet, etc. or is there something internal like a rubber ring or washer, etc. that may help the faucet manage the pressure from the dishwasher.

    Hello kld,
You are not saying what type of faucet you have.

Check the point of connection at the spout. It may be that the that connection is not sealing properly and water is being pushed backward, and into the casing of the faucet, coming out on the bottom of the plate. Get new transition piece that connects portable DW supply hose with the spout of your faucet, or replace washers / O-rings inside the point of connection piece

    Hope that help

    Milo
