    Need help with a late eighties early nineties kid's fantasy movie.
    So I noticed a couple other questions like this on here, and saw that a couple people got some resolution, so I thought I'd give it a shot. This movie has been bugging me for years, I can't remember the name, the title, or who is in it. All I remember is a little bit of what I think is the opening scene more or less.

    There's a guy, who I believe is a cop, maybe? He finds a stone that in my memory is multi-faceted like a disco ball, but it's entirely clear, like a crystal. Apparently, this little fey creature is also after it, and follows him home. He stumbles into a trap, I think, of this guy's which is like a little wire dog kennel. Now... It might be that the guy caught the creature, and the crystal got lost afterward and the guy knows nothing about it. It's all jumbled up in my head. I believe the creature was played by a child, not puppets, muppets, or anything of the like.

    If anyone has any idea what this movie might be, you'd be helping end a frustrating search. Much appreciated.

    I'm pretty sure that's it. I can't find anywhere that'll actually let me watch it, and it's not on Netflix, and Amazon wants like... a billion dollars for a VHS copy, but I think that's it. Thanks so much.
