Ameding Tax Return for F-1 Student
    Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find some valuable help here. I'm an International Student from Morocco and just like a lot of people here I made the mistake last year of filing using Turbo Tax which claimed the making work pay credit(I'm not eligible for that). Also the taxable income and total tax are different between 1040A and 1040NR-EZ. I filled out lines 1 through 15 in 1040X but I got stuck there.
In summary, 1040A claimed the I have to pay 0 dollars in taxes and that I have overpaid 427 dollars (164 Federal taxes + 263 Work pay credit) which I received on a check in late April. 1040NR-EZ now claims that I have to pay 59 dollars in taxes, that my payments are already 164, which means an over-payment of 105 that I have to receive.

Between these two, I understand that I have to send a check to the IRS with 322 dollars on it(as I had to get only 105 from them but I received 427) but I don't know how to reflect that on 1040X.

    Can somebody help please ?

    1040x snapshot is attached :)

Put the amount of the original refund ($427) on Line #17 of the Form 1040X.

    Leave Line #18 BLANK.

On Line #19, put $322, and enclose a check made to the U.S. Treasury with the amendment,

In the comment section, ask that they re-instate your non-resident alien status. Also ask that they waive ALL penalties and interest. They should waive the penalties, but probably NOT the interest, for which they will bill you.

Be sure to attach a properly-prepared Form 1040NR-EZ with the word "AMENDED" printed on the top of page 1 of the Form 1040NR-EZ.

Also, you need to include Form 8843, which must be filed annually EVEN IF you have no tax return.
