Water won't drain out of my sink.. garbage disposal works fine not blocked
When I use the garbage disposal the water leaves as soon as I turn the garbage disposal off the water comes right back in the sink? What's going on what am I missing?

You aren't missing anything, Your drain line is clogged. First let me clear up the mystery of the garbage disposal. The two tubs in your sink are connected. If you had standing water that wouldn't drain and then ran the disposal the spinning table would act like a centrifugal pump and pump the water out of one tub into the other, As soon as you shut it off the water would drain right back.
Most kitchen sink clogs will be found in the horizontal drain line in the wall.
Remove the "J" bend from the trap and send your snake up into the wall. You'll run into a elbo about 8 inches in but once around that you only have to run out 5 or 6 feet more.
Replace the trap and flush with a tub of hot water. Good luck, Tom

No! When you run the disposal it will still act like a pump in standing water. Cheers, Tom

There is a good chance when they snaked from the kitchen drain, the snake went up the vent, instead of down the drain. I would next snake the sink vent from the roof. How far from the nearest bathroom is the kitchen sink? However far that is, I would put down enough cable to reach the bottom floor from the vent on the roof, plus enough to reach the next nearest fixture, most likely a bathroom or washer. Then put in another ten foot or so just for good measure. Better to run the cable a little far, than not far enough.

Not my take at all. If this were a vent problem the sink would drain but it would drain slow and you might hear a noise from the trap.
However, if the horizontal line in the wall is clear,(and I haven't heard of anybody snaking it yet) the blockage may be under the tee at the base of the stack. Then it would have to be snaked from the kitchen roof vent.
Good luck, Toim
