Running water in pipes, getting louder!
Over the last 5 days I'm hearing a sound of running water in the wall near where the washer valve enter into the wall on the other side in the garage. THe sound was pretty slight 5 days ago, but last night was very loud and I had to shut off the water entirely, I was so worried. Unfortunately it's Saturday and I don't want to call a plumber until Monday. I don't see a leak anywhere. I ran the washer yesterday and it worked fine. Above the washer is a bathroom, so that might possibly be related. Help!

Let's find out what's going on. To check for a hidden leak go out to the water meter, look for the little hand below the read out. With all your fixtures shut off you should not see the little hand moving. The faster it moves the bigger the leak. A small leak running 24/7 can run your water bill sky high. More questions? I'm as close as a click. Good luck and thank you for rating my reply. TOM

Constant running water noise, old water softener pipes? [ 3 Answers ]

When we bought our house, it came with a decommissioned water softener in the laundry room. (sorry, I'm an admin, not...
