    Actually, you can get a passport... It's only identification.. It doesn't give you permission to do anything.

    excon is correct, with a few exceptions, you may get a passport, getting the visa to enter another country is the real issue.

    A passport is just another form of ID. So long as you don't leave the country you will be fine.
