A 15 amp 240 volt circuit can handle 3600 watts, less any applicable derating.

If this is located in the USA, and if this is for a heater, or some other continuous load that will run 3 hours or more, a 3500 watt 240 volt load will need a 20 amp circuit with #12 wire.

trza. You indicate it is "240 on a SINGLE 15 amp"... Can't be a single. Maybe a double breaker, 2 singles connected together? 240 requires 2 power feeds. What wires do you see in the wall box?

Some 2 pole breakers only have one small handle, such as a Square D QO breaker.

I wanted them to clarify since I have seen people put 2 wires on a single breaker and expect 240VAC
