About 2 months ago I realized my elbows started to get red and very bumpy. Even if I just just bump it on something little it would really hurt. When I bend my elbow it becomes ths nasty form of dry skin. I went to the doctors they said I just needed to put on on mouisturizing lotion. (didnt help). I believe it on my knuckles to my knuckes are red and have very sensitive bumps. I have been puttung on cortizon ointment for about a week but so far no result. I don't know what it is! Help me!!

It takes quite a quite to rehydrate skin, especially knuckles, elbows and heels of feet. The cortisone cream won't do you much good. Gold Bond Lotion is what I recommend for skin that has gone into that condition, but you have to be religious putting it on. The best time is after a shower, after washing your hands while your hands and skin are still damp. Lotion is much easily absorbed at that time.

Cortisone cream is just going to sit on top and evaporate.

Skin can become so dry it gets infected.

Have you seen a dermatologist? I would seek a second opinion, and ask about the possibility of eczema.
