    Sabre 1742 starter solenoid
    How do I wire up a dual mount 4 post solenoid on a 17hp Sabre lawn tractor?

    Hot wire from battery to top terminal . Wire from key to solenoid below this on spade.
    Cable from solenoid to starter on other top post.
    Spade below this should go to ground . I usually ground it to one of the bolts that hold down the solenoid.

Have a 12 hp briggs mower with new solenoid. Try to start, solenoid still clicking. Does this point to the starter being bad? How is the best way to check the starter?
