Grounding bar and neutral bar together
What should be done if the neutral and ground wires in same bar. In the panel box there is one bar with grounding wires and the white neutral wires together.

Maybe nothing. Depends on how old the panel is. In days gone by, the grounds and neutrals were on the same bar. How old is the house and panel?

Age of a panel is irrelevant.

Age of equipment is NOT listed in the National Electric Code.

If the Main Breaker is in this panel, the neutral and ground bars are to be connected.

If the Main Breaker is, for example, located at the outdoor meter, then the neutral bar in the panel must be insulated and isolated from equipment grounds.

Does this panel have the Main Breaker located in it?
