If you had sex, with or without protection she can get pregnant. No form of birth control is 100 percent.

I would assume by 72 pill you mean the morning after pill as it is commonly called, and it has to be taken within 72 hours of the sexual contact.

The pill depending on which type and brand is used, does have side effects, it is best if you discuss those concerns with your doctor
