    Hard wired smoke detectors
My basement lights stopped working and when I turn the switch on the smoke detectors buzz.

I have removed the detectors and cleaned them.

    I also replaced both switches.

There is power at the breaker and both switches.

With the switch on and listening to the buzz, remove the bulbs, if the buzzing stops, may be a bad neutral connection between the 2(lights and smokes).
