What is wrong with my dog?
I have a three year old doberman. Very well tamed but this morning she was eating grass and shortly after foaming out the mouth. My dad walked outside and she turned and looked at him and growled as her hair stood up everywhere on her. She then came to him and nudged his leg with her mouth leaving the foam on his shorts. She has had an excessive amount of energy. She has jumped the fence twice since we have left her in the backyard. She doesn't want to be alone. She seems to be dizzy, and her eyes just aren't right. She has been pacing back and forth.

Have you checked out for worms of all types. Grasss eating in my dog means she has worms.

Excitable, eating grass, foaming, she is obviousely out of sorts. As far as growling at your Dad, could she have been startled by him, then suddenly realized who he was.
Has she ever had a problem with her eyes? Perhaps she has injured one of her eyes while she was out and couldn't see him that well.
Also I am gathering that she hasn't always been outside. If this is new for her she may be having some separation anxiety.
Especially if she is jumping the fence, she could be in danger unconfined, cars, other dogs, neighbors who perhaps don't like dogs.
I think a good physical exam by your vet is a good idea here.
And definitely talk about the anxiety wile you are there.
Good Luck and I hope you get her sorted out.

My husband suggests checking out what she has been eating in the backyard. Could any of the plant material be affecting her? Morning Glory, Jimson Weed and several others will cause hyper stimulation such as you are describing.

Could she have gotten into coffee grounds or other discarded food such as chocolate?

Grazing is normal. Purging is normal. You just have to make certain that what she can get ahold of is safe for her.

How long have you had her? Dobermans are notorious for wanting to be with their people. They are nicknamed 'velcro dogs' for a reason. They also need plenty of mental and physical stimulation. If the yard is boring to her, she will find a way to make life more interesting.

I do think a visit to the vet may be a good idea, just to be certain she hasn't caused herself any injury and to make certain of what is causing the problem.

Has she been vaccinated for rabis? Not trying to scare you but here are some of they symptoms of rabis:
    Extremely mean and aggressive
    Totally uncontrollable
Break it own teeth by biting objects
    Constant growling
    Biting
    Dilated pupils
    Restless
    Disorientation
    Seizures

    Paralytic stage last

Some dogs remain quite tame and do not show aggression until the latter stage of the infection.
