I wrote you back on the 28 th of July regarding a false positive for oxycodone while taking hydrocodone. You've given me some excellent advive. I've written down all phone conversations with the pain clinic office and, finally got to speak to the doctors assistant whom said they would be back today. Called today and was told maybe tomorrow. Got name (avee labs) and phone number to follow up with the lab. When I called they would only release info to my doctor. Don't I have rights as a patient to ask them questions?

Had never heard of this particular lab. See they work only for doctors but also guarantee results within 36 hours.

Any rights you have in relation to this test attach to the doctor. He, not you, chose the lab. You should ask the doctor's office for the results. Nonetheless, your call to the lab has put them on notice. Follow that with a letter to them.

Please refer to the list of agencies (previously provided) that are available to you. It sounds as though you have been refused medical care based on an erroneous drug test. That initial test was also performed at the doctor's office, as I recall. This particular problem involving hydrocodone cross-reactivity is well known and understood. Should have been promptly addressed and remedied.

Certainly your experience is not what these testing programs were designed to accomplish.
