    Hi Injun29

    Plumbing code requires that all private residences have single lever, temperature and pressure balanced valves in place for showers/tubs.

    However, thermostatic mixing valves are NOT a requirement, just another option available to homeowners. These are usually more expensive to purchase/install and repair... ;)
