    Why is my period Brown?
    My first period I got was brown, and occasionally I have days when my period is brown.. But this time it's been brown the whole time.

    Chances are that your period is brown because you are having an irregular cycle. How long back did your first ever periods start? Girls during their teenage years end up with brown period many times because of the irregularity of the cycle and hormonal ups and downs. But if the brown period continues the next time around as well, it's time you visit your family doctor.

    Sometimes it can be normal for girls. Especially if you are irregular. In general brown periods are left over from the previous period.

    Keep up with your yearly pap/pelvic, keep up with your checkups. And anytime you feel something is wrong see your doctor. Your doctor can let you know better than we can if something is wrong.

    But in general, a brown period as the ONLY thing going on, its not a problem.
