Hi All,

I have a house maid, she's with us nearly for the past 8 months now. She's doing the household chores and above all taking care of my son while I'm away at work, my dad statys home so we are kind of relieved a bit from the son tension. Now the issue is that this lady kind of becomes annyonigly possessive at times regarding my son, ever since he was small he slept with me, now he's 2 and half and has started his demands to sleep with her, after a lot of explanation from my side to her that he will sleep with me, we ended up with the son sleeping with the grandfather, I ve told her that in case he s up late at night as she makes him sleep late in afternoon and I come home from work and can't be up more than 10 or 11pm as my waking up time is 6am in the morning. So here goes when he sleeps he goes to his grandfather room, I really want to see him when I wake up in the morning, and so I v told her that in case he sleep there also she can pick him once his asleep and put him in our room on my bed, but THAT NEVER HAPPENS, moreover when I get up in the morning she takes him from grandfather room to my room where now she will sleep with him as I'm leaving. I don't know if she does this purposely with a bad intention to hide him from me orthere is something else. Otherwise she's good with him, never saw her beating ghim, plays with him a lot.. so how can I control this situation and unnecessary hatred for her that is lying in my heart?

Why are you letting your employee dictate to you?

Your first priority should be your child and all this is obviously not good for him-so terminate her contract and find someone else.

Do you think I should termintate her, I v been considering it but my son is really attached to her and she cares for him, the only problem is that she doesn't listen to me about some things.. also sometimes he himself insists to sleep in grandfather room but she's into responsible enuf to pick him and put him in his place. Getting a maid to stick on with you is tough, so what do you think..

Yes I do think-this situation is not acceptable and will not benefit your son in the long run.

I agree. She's your employee - if she doesn't do what you ask her to - you should terminate her.

First at 2 1/2 the child the child should be sleeping in their own bed, not with someone else, unless it is a rare case.

You tell the employee what is to be done, and how it is to be done, tell them they have no choice about the matter, give them a written warning if it is not done your way, Explain you will fire them if it is not done properly

It sounds as if she has become quite attached to your son. Does she have any kids of her own? How old is she?

You mentioned that she has been working for you for 8 months, so when did all of this start to happen?

After you spoke to her about moving the child into your room, what did she say?

Why is a two year old sleeping with you, Grandfather, and she any way? He needs to be in HIS own bed.

Warn her one more time. After all, she is working for you.
