What is the average lifespan (years) of a Carrier Weathermaker 8000?
Is it 15 years, or more?

Gas furnaces have been known to last 40 or even 50 years. They have also failed in the first year. Proper installation counts most, then quality equipment.

There are way too many variables to predict when a furnace will fail sight unseen.

Having said all, most modern furnaces are good for around 20 years.

    Hope this helps,

    Gin.

I've had my carrier a/c heat unit for about 10 years.. . Good service, but it has recently been making a sqeaking/chirping/screeching sound when the fan is running in a/c mode. I reminds me of the sound a car makes when the fan belt is slipping. Any suggestions? Thanks, lankford3
