    Requesting court adjournement
    What is the correct procedure for requesting a court hearing to be adjourned, the date is 3 weeks ahead but due to an investigation into a report for the court further time is needed to comply with the wishes of the court at last hearing.

    Hello f:

    It's not an adjournment you want, but a postponement... If you don't have a lawyer, write the court a CERTIFIED letter requesting a postponement for the reasons stated, and send a copy to the opposing lawyer.
