    Turbo or super charger?
I have a 1987 monte carlo LS 3.1 right now nothing has been done to it other than a bull dog starter, but I am wanting to install either a turbo or a super charger in it, I know a little about cars only enough to keep them running as for adding new things to it I am lost. What I do know the turbo or super kits comes with instructions on how to install it. What I am wanting to know which would be best for my car easy to install and where is the best cheapest one I can get.Right now I am checking on eBay?

Either one will be a major job that requires reprogramming the fuel maps at the minimum. You WILL be paying someone else to do a lot of the required work. And it will hasten the demise of the automatic transmission if you use the go pedal very heavily. This isn't a bolt it on and go type of job. Unless you are up to that amount of work (you admit you aren't) you are going to be shelling out at least as much as the parts for a professional to get the other things right in addition. And that really ups the cost of the project.

Turbos have the advantage of less parasitic drag allowing better mileage but have to spool up meaning off idle power is lower, but the supercharger has the advantage of more low rpm power and a flatter power band. Depends on what matters most to you.

Bolt-on horsepower sounds easy, but you will need to do more research.
The extra ponies willl put strain on O.E. parts and systems that will fail prematurely.
