    Get custody of my sister?
I want to get custody my 16yr old sister. Our mother has lost her job, losing her car and her house. Separated from my alcoholic father. He is going to jail and is also losing his house. My husband and I want to help her. Take her in, get her enrolled in school here, get her a job and get her going down a good path... what can I do to get custody?

Forget custody, go for guardianship. While very similar guardianship is generally easier to obtain.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Check with your local Family court. Especially if your Mom agrees, you can obtain temporary guardianship until you mom is back on her feet.
