    Splice 220v to 110v
I am trying to splice 220v to 110v and it is not working! The 220v wire is black, red, and green. The 110v hook up is black, white, and green. I tried hooking up the black to black and red to green. I don't know I am all mixed up!

You did not give details. What are you trying to accomplish? 220 is actuall two 110 lines, one from each side of your panel. If you have a 220 line but only want a 110 you can drop one of the hot lines. If you do that make sure you go back to your panel and disconnect the unused line.

220v loads or equiment does not need a neutral (usually white wire). 110v loads does. By the sounds of your 220v wire it has an equiment ground (green wire) but no neutral (white). If there is no white or neutral in the 220v wire this will not work.
