How to persuade my parents into letting me get more piercings
Im 15, doing well in school, I'm never in trouble and at the moment I'm loving life! But over the past year I started getting more piercing such as my navel, 2 tragus, helix and my 5 lobes that I done myself and I started to think I'm getting addicted to them! If no one knows who I am someone will say yeah you know the one with the piercings :) and that makes me feel like I'm standing out, so now I've realised I want to get more! So I've decided I want my nose and tongue pierced, preferably asap! Im one of them people who research every single detail about it so I would no if something was going wrong, I know one day ill get them done but I don't want to wait. My mum thinks ill look slutty with the tongue bar but I told her that I don't care what people think and that people have different opinions about stuff! So please give me some tips! Thanks :)

Explain to her how it will help you get into the best colleges and get a good job latter because it is something that they all look for.

First off, if your parents say no, then they say no but try and ask for their reasons for saying no.

Discuss with them the possible consequences it may have at your school (exclusion/expulsion for example), discuss with them why you would like it, discuss what they would like you to do to earn the money, responsibility and trust to getting a new piercing and discuss the long term effects like college applications and careers. Show them you have thought about every aspect of getting a new piercings, explain to them about retainers to keep them hidden which is what I had to do with my nose stud whilst I was in year 11 (age 15/16) and how you are prepared to work for it. Ask them to give you a set of jobs, goals and achievements for getting the piercing.

Remember though, listen to their argument as well and respect their wishes as you are still under their roof and you abide by their rules until you're old enough to earn your own money and independently make your own choices. If they say wait until you are 16, then you wait until you're 16, if they ask you to wait until you finish school, you wait until you finish school.

Also, don't go behind their backs because it won't work out on your part; your parents will lose their trust for you and question your responsibilities and maturity.

    Good luck. Ramona.
