How to tell off overbearing parents that its OK to have your own room?
I'm 15, and my parents refuse to give me a room of my own, despite me asking several times. I don't know how to drive home the point to them that I really want my own space.

What are their reasons for not giving you a room?

Why don't you have a room? Is there an empty bedroom in your home?

You really need to give us more information so we can help you.

They secretly check my diary after I sleep everyday, but after I confronted them, they say that if I have my own room, they cannot check if I have a boyfriend and even say that its OK for them to do that since they have been doing that for many years. How should I tell them?

    Hello Angela:

You tried. It didn't work. Sometimes people don't listen to reason, and we don't get to pick our parents. The good news is that in 3 years, you can leave. I know at 15, that seems to be a long way off, but it really isn't..

Until then, don't write in your diary, smile, do your homework and prey that 3 years goes by pretty fast.
