    Honda Civic problem,SRS lamp blinking
    Hello guys.I have the next problem: when yesterday I was driving my car,by littles it's started to die,like I accelerate and the car goes like "buooooooooo",like the gas is finished.I checked the gas and nothing,still there the problem.Little later it died at all.I tried so many times and it didn't fire.then I put the first gear,took the hand brake off,left the clutch pedal alone and cranked it,after about 10 second(while the car is moving) it gets on,passes about 300-400 meters(about half mile),and dies again with that strange sound "buoooooo".Today I found those wires near where the passanger put their feet,near the ECU,I found 2 pins,like 1 jack is female and have 2 wires,and other has 3 wires and its also female.I put 1 paper clip to the holes of the 1 that have 2 wires,I put the paper clip inside the holes,switched the ignition,and the "check engine" light switched on and didn't go off.Also noticed that my SRS lamp(some red lamp on the painel that says S.R.S,it was blinking always same speed,without short and long pauses.It was raining yesterday,might it be because of the rain ?could I jump wrong wires to read error codes?? guys help me with this problem,please.!

    I think you did it correctly. Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 seconds, or remove the 7.5 A BACKUP fuse in the under-hood fuse box for 10 seconds, to reset your computer. I'm not sure this will work, but it's worth a try. The SRS system is so involved that it intimidates me, to a certain extent. It's weird that the SRS light came on. Did you have to pry the 2-P Service Check Connnector from a rubber mount?

    The 2 pin service check connector didn't have any rubber,it was just open.I already tried to disconnect the ground cable from battery and put it back,NO results :(

    Check all under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter, particularly the SRS fuse.

    But how could this affect my "firing engine"?? Because I was driving my car,and out of nothing this sound appeard,like "buooooooooooo",like the gas is finished,after it goes away and half mile later it appears again,and then goes away :S , may it be my ECU that died ?

    The fuse suggestion was for the SRS light staying on, not your engine problem. Have you run the K-Test on your ECM?

    I don't care about S.R.S lamp,if it's blinking,if it's stays on,if it's off,I don't really care... the thing I want is my car working.So,now I went to the car,and verified the fuses,all the fuses are OK... I also took the screw out,wich connects the small gasoline deposite with a pipe that goes from fuel tank... you know that small deposit,like when you take the screw out,it's supposed to throw the gasoline out with pressure,and in my case,it just slides down,like water fall,lol :),but anyway,I THINK I have gasoline still,about maybe 3-4 litters,it's like 1.31 gallons (I think that's the US measures),so,K-TEST I didn't run yet.gonna make it after read how to do it... opinions about my problem? Texasgreasemonkey,you are the king of hondas,so try to help me with this please ;),thanks

    Since your fuses are good, run the K-Test to verify your ECM is good. The CEL must go off on most Hondas, in order for them to start. This has to be your focus. If you record 5 volts at the MAP sensor, then turn your attention to the main relay. While you have the main relay out, jump main relay connector terminals 5 and 7, turn ignition switch to ON, and verify that the fuel pump runs.


    Later:

    Your description sounds like you need to replace the fuel filter; i.e. it's plugged up. Also, make sure you have enough gas in your tank.
