    Help for tiredness?
I have gotten my sleep hours mixed up and now can't go to sleep until 1 or to a.m. Then I am so tired until about noon. I have sleep apnea also, but cannot wear a cpap machine because that keeps me awake rather than helps me get my sleep! So, now being overweight, tired, and unhealthy, I need help. I need 9 - 10 hours of sleep at night, still am tired during the day and need to take one or two naps. I also love Coke and have recently realized that the type of sugar in it gives me diarreah especially when I eat foods with salad dressings, grease, oil, etc. That I am sure lends itself to my not getting the nutrition I need. I am a mess and a friend suggested Shaklee protein drinks and multivitamin and mineral supplements. I am about to do anything but cannot afford to spend money on things that do not help. Any suggestions out there I would be very appreciative. JH

As someone who sells supplements, I have quite a few options to give you. Hopefully, you can figure out which one will be best for you.

First, there are a lot of supplements that can give you extra energy. Vitamin B-12 is probably #1 recommended by doctors but, if you're going to go that route, I think you should get a B-12 that's combined with B-6 and Folic Acid. Also, greens are amazing for keeping you alert and awake. If you want to take a supplement for that, there's anything from general "Super Food" complexes to Spirulina to Green Tea pills (etc, etc). There are tons of other options to boost energy, especially if you might worry you have a metabolism issue, but these are great ones to start with.

Also, you might need supplements to help you with a better night's sleep for a while. I'm sure you've heard of Melatonin as a popular sleep-aid, but I've heard a lot better results from taking GABA with L-Theanine. Other solutions could be Valerian Root, Chamomile, 5-HTP, and so much more

Anyway, I hope those are some good places for you to start and wasn't just an overload of choices.

    Best of luck!
