We recently got rid of our old dishwasher because it wasn't really cleaning well, the soap dispenser didn't work and overall was just in poor condition. The final straw was the last time we ran it, it didn't fill with water. Assuming that it had finally died a lousy death, we bought a new one.

We installed it yesterday, and did the test run. All the buttons light up, and it runs; but like the first one, there is no water to the unit. My hubby did have water in the supply line, but it appears that there isn't any coming in.

Is there a valve or a shut off that could have been tripped by accident, thus causing the tub not to fill? I'd be surprised if both units had a pump issue, so this is probably some type of plumbing problem.

The sink is fine, as is the drain and disposal, so the water to that is fine.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

To remove the old washer the water line had to have been shut off. Determine where that is and check to see if its fully open. Frequently the shut off is under the sink cabinet tapping off the hot supply line to the kitchen faucet

We know that it's not that water shut off, as he'd shut it off and turned it back on. We have, however found the answer, which is a bit funny.

Turns out that when the new model was pushed into the slot, the copper tubing got a slight kink in it, as soon as we straightened it, the water started gushing and all is well :)

The similarity between the old one not getting water and the new one seemed connected, but in reality was completely coincidental, and unrelated.

Anyway, we're up and running! Thanks again for your help!

I am so glad you found the trouble shooters worst nightmare. Two completely different causes
Can have exactly the same result. Many times we assume one possibility is the answer and waste
Many hours only to discover "well, you get the idea"
