    Regarding child tax credit
I would be in to US on L1 visa in June end 2011, my wife and child will join me around November 2011.
Since I would qualify SPT as resident alien, I guess I would be abnle to file joint return even though my wife would live for just 2 months in 2011.
Since my child would also be for 2 months in 2011, does he qualify as dependent hence child credit..

    Thx

Yes, the child WILL qualify for the $1,000 Child Tax Credit.

Both your wife and child will need to submit Form w-7 to get ITINs.

When the time comes to file, email me at [email protected] for professional help filing. Your type of tax return is what I do!
