    Yes. Protein in dog's urine (and many mammal's urine) acts as a fertilizer and 'burns' the grass.

    And.. there are supplements you can give your dog to help make their urine not so acidic... Grass Savers is a popular brand. They come in Tablet, treats or liquid in water.
